Long Lost Friend...

On Sunday, my long lost friend, Marina Sani came to my house. Geez, its been hmmm...let me see, I think about 13 years (??) after I moved out from Kolej 3, UPM. We have so many things to talk about .... college misadventure, university memories, the "kebun sayur" watering every afternoon....owhh I forgot to show her the picture of us wearing kain batek...hahaha..

Did I mentioned she's chubbier than me...hehehe! Lucky me, I told her that I'm pregant thats why I'm chubby...but the truth is, it just a lame excuse! She was being modest when I ask her where did she met her husband??...hehehe...and me being me, always a wicked person keep pressing her and at last she said, fate bring them together...hehehe.....tretttt wrong answer!! So much for "korek-ing" other people love story! But never fear, I'll get the answer eventually. I think she was 'shy-shy cat' cause her husband was around at that time.

We talked for two hours, such a short time because we have so many things to talk about. She was rushing because they have to go to her parents-in-law house at Gedong....quite far from Kuching.

Being apart for so many years, alot of things change, but one thing remain the same, the friendship!! I missed being a reckless teenager...missed the adventure, the secret admirer (ooohh my handsome Sabahan guys..hehehe), the late night hantus story, the makan time (Marina room got alot of food), the college & floor orientation (geez), the skodeng at male hostel (hehehe...remember the guy showing their body from the window??), the brickwork games (this I always pinjam from Azah)...all of it!! I missed each time we together :-).

3 Sins

Last Saturday, we have a seminar at our HQ, conducted by our own COO. What really catch my attention and makes me laugh so hard when our COO said about 3 sins in our workplace. The three sins are :

1. JYE - Justify Your Existence
2. CYA - Cover Your Ass
3. BTOB - Blame The Other Bloke

What he says really true, maybe being so long at this company, actually both me and him join the company about 7 years already...so to relate these 3 sins with the people we met at the workplace is not really a hard job. I can easily named the person to each of the sins above...and owhh the winner for MR. CYA is my very own Project Manager!! hahaha....so jahat!!

I'm pregnant again...

I just came back from clinic....and I'm pregnant again :-). We didn't plan this pregnancy, rather I decided no to take the family pill again because of the weight problem. But since god give us another baby..well, I'm happy all the same. Could it be baby girl? :-)

I just hope this pregnancy is as smooth as when I was pregnant with Aliff Zafran. No headache, no morning sickness, and most importantly very healthy. Hmmmm but last pregnancy I have high blood pressure...so have to be careful with the food I take now.

Owhhh...now where did I put all my maternity clothes?? Geezzzz....

Amnesia

Amnesia ehh? I don’t think that the right words to describe my son condition at this moment…but he has a tendency to sleep very late and wake up around 5 or 6 o’clock in the morning just to watch cartoon!! I think the best word to describe his situations right now is…tv mania, to be exact cartoon mania!! Ever since he knows Playhouse Disney’s Channel exist, he become “attached” with all the programme in that channel….from Dibo the gift dragon, Danny & Daddy, Pocoyo, Noddy, Tigger & Pooh, Little Einstein, Handy Manny, owhhh Mickey Mouse…his favourite…and many more arghhh! I can’t even watch News nowadays!! Owhhh he even watch Imagination Movers…..gosh!!

Every night I have to persuade him to sleep, that would be 11pm then. I don’t think my son understand that his body need rest. Do other parents out there have the same issue or is it just my son?? Hmmm…of all the bad habit he has now, it does have a good thing too. I LOL-ED when I heard he says...”Oh my” “Oh no” “My my” hehehehehe…We normally speaks Malay at home, for him to say those English words…hmmm, he must’ve been very fascinated with the cartoon character. Geezz….guess we have to look thing at the bright sight, even though it means I have to sacrifice all my favourite tv programme.

I refuse to blog about my work, but I’m pissed-off because I have a male manager wearing skirts, so penakut!!

Launching of MS Cheese

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It's been hmmm almost 2 months since I last update my blog. Geez.....not to say I’ve been sooo busy, but rather I’m being so lazy and kind of frustrated with the Streamyx line. If there are people out there who called 100 line number every week and complaining about their streamyx line sucks….well you are not alone!!

On the other hand, I have good news….well good news for me and cheesecake lover! I’ve been selling cheesecake for festive seasons only, hari raya to be exact, now I decide its time to venture into business seriously. So I launch MS Cheese because of my passion for cheesecakes. Other than me, I never thought that cheesecake is additive to others…hehehe…then raya came, and I have order of 40 nos of cheesecakes! A rewarding experience, I must say! Tired?? U bet but I’m doing something I like most! To know that another cheesecake lover enjoying my favorite cheesecake…..it’s priceless.

Malaysia for Malaysians!

THE COUNTRY WE LOVE
by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad

1. When we became independent in 1957 nobody gave us much of a chance to make any progress beyond what had been achieved under the British.
2. I myself at that time thought that the only difference independence would make would be Malaysians would take over the administration of the country from the British. Nothing much more than that.
3. The other day I was given a copy of a news sheet called "Opinion" of November 1968, which I remember was edited and produced by Sulaiman Alias, one of the young political activist in UMNO.
4. It was quite a liberal paper and contained articles by such well-known personalities as Dr Lim Chong Eu (Gerakan), Dr R Kumar (Labour Party), Lim Kit Siang (DAP), Syed Hussain Ali (Parti Rakyat), Tengku Zaid (PMIP), Goh Cheng Teik, Ismail Ghani and several others.
5. I was also a contributor writing "In Defense of Feudalism". I was a Member of Parliament then.
6. The article that most interested me was one by Dr Lim Chong Yah, an economist, entitled "The Future of Malaysian Economy".
7. In it he gave a picture of the Malaysian Economy in 1967, 10 years after Merdeka.
8. The population was a mere 10 million and we were reproducing at 3.7% per annum. Our death rate had decreased from 12% to 7% which resulted in a natural increase of 3% p.a., a high rate, he noted.
9. Assuming decreasing death rate and also decreasing birth rate, the 3% population growth would likely continue over the next 10 years bringing the population to 13 million in 1977.
10. Dr Lim thought that national income should increase at 3% p.a. over the 1967 per capital (sic) income of USD940 p.a. But at 3% rate of growth the gap between us and the rich countries would widen.
11. Still the other developing countries would be behind us. However at 3% growth we would not be able to create jobs at 100,000 p.a. The rate of growth of national income should be 5%.
12. Investment growth (domestic) would not be able to do this.
13. If foreign investment makes up 4% of growth then it may be possible to achieve the necessary rate of investment for creating 100,000 jobs per annum.
14. It was a time when the rubber estates and tin mines were still owned by foreigners. Bringing in foreign capital sounded like increasing overdependence on foreign enterprise. We did not quite relish the idea of more foreign involvement in our newly independent country.
15. But without capital inflow unemployment would be 200,000 by 1977. Together with 160,000 unemployed in 1967, the rate would go up to 360,000, a horrendous figure.
16. The 360,000 did not include a large number of under-employed workers.
17. In the second five-year plan the public section was to spend 4,500 million Ringgit of which 1,900 million Ringgit was to come from foreign sources (borrowing).
18. Malaysia would have to depend on foreign capital inflow. Dr Lim remarked that political independence had not freed us from dependence on foreign capital. Still, he said, it was consistent with political independence. He named several developed countries which depended on foreign capital inflows.
19. He then turned to the rubber industry which was undergoing great difficulties because of the increasing usage of synthetics. He concluded that the difficulties of the rubber industry was also the difficulty of the nation in view of the strategic and preeminent role the industry occupied in the Malaysian economy.

I am touched when I read this article. Tun was right; today we have become too materialistic and selfish.
.
I am Malaysian and I love the country too. I would mourn to death if it falters and falls. I don’t really know about the politic stuff but the current state of economy is not promising with the leaders (BN or otherwise) still "politiking" on unimportant issues. I just hope the present and future leaders will not destroy what we have achieved so far with their greed and power-craziness!
.
.
Happy Independence Day….
Will we enjoy this independence forever?

Happy Birthday To Me!

zwani.com myspace graphic comments
Today is my birthday, happy birthday to me :-). Another year older, hopefully another year wiser and luckier.
.
Another Year Older©
By Gwendolyn C. Harper
.
A birthday is just another day,
young of mind,
yet youthful looks go away.
Another year older,
the world seems a bit colder.
Yet my heart still burns,
and for love it forever yearns.
Another year older,
I grow even bolder.
Life is for us to learn from,
as calculated as a mathematical sum.
Another year older,
hurting blazes now just smolder.
Letting go of past rage and pain,
living life and feeling sane.
Another year older,
a tear on your shoulder.
Life has not been so bad,
my tear is of joy not because I'm sad.
Another day older,
more pages added to my folder.
I'm glad of whom I am today,
I would not have myself any other way.
So don't mind that I write my own birthday rhyme,
I've lived through my life up till this time.
I think it is safe to say,
that things will go as planned His way.
He's got more for me yet,
It'll be even better I bet.
Another year older,
and I am in His debt.

Blackout!

We were shopping at Choice supermall when the mall blackout! Nevertherless, we still able to bought the fast food at KFC, the cashier manage to key-in our order with the beeping machine, he was very very nervous, afraid that the back-up system might be off before he manage to complete the task...hehehe. It was 6:30 pm at that time. I didn't check other places but the whole Petra Jaya blackout!

I thought that it would not take long before SeSCO manage to troubleshoot the problem but my prediction totally wrong! It's a hot hot night, no wind, lots of mosquito...hmmphhh. By 8:30pm we (my family that is) have to drive around the neighbourhood so that we can enjoy the car air-conditioner. Aliff Zafran have to sleep in the car until 10:00 p.m. Kesiannnn...

Feel so glad when the electricity back on 11:00 p.m because Aliff Zafran already wake-up and cry! Fuhhh what a night!

Day to remembered ~ 8.08.2008

Finally, I can start surf the internet last night! When I arrived home yesterday, my streamyx haven't jumper, so I called TM to make a complaint...hishhh complaint again...hopefully that was the last complaint for TM from me, getting tired already! After about 20 minutes waiting for them to do troubleshooting I manage to get online! It's kind of slow though...not like office internet eventhough the download speed the same...hmmmmm have to check and do speedometer after this. So yesterday, 8.08.2008 history was made ~ declaration of me being a full time blogger! Hehehe...

Streamyx Rant

I’ve been applying for Streamyx Combo package for about 1 month now. TM have to take about 2 weeks to install my phone line and another 2 weeks and still counting for my Streamyx line to jumper!

The thing that really piss me off when the TM staff promise to send the modem and installed the internet to my house and fail to do so! I’ve called like nuts the day after and nobody pick up the phone! They dare to make promises and when they fail to turn-up, they just disappear just like that without explanation.

I end-up bought a new modem and do the installation myself! Streamyx staff only send my modem after I’ve make a complaint! They better not charge me RM88 for installation fee otherwise I will make another complaint for their lousy service!

TM promise that I will have a stable DSL light today…if they not then just wait for my endless complaining! I will not stop complaining until they do their job properly!

I really hope that the big international network will invest in Malaysia and kick TMnet’s ass. TM sucks big time!

Myspace Hugs Comments & Graphics

Yesterday been a trying day when Aliff Zafran fall sick. He have a fever, a mild one at that. Nevertheless, he manage to drain all my energy with his never ending activities. If he sick, he wouldn't sleep, instead he would play until he gets tired...which is like almost never! Despite all that, its been a good day...yesterday the first time I heard him called me "mama." I thought I heard wrongly cause he always say "mamam" means "makan" or "eat." But yesterday he called me "mama" many time...I'm blessed :-) Big hug for Aliff Zafran.

Camping@home

I redeem the Tepee & Tunnel Play Set from Direct Access Member Award for my little Aliff Zafran. When the play set arrive, gosh!! It was gigantic, never thought it would take almost 50% of my TV area.

I wish we can have an outdoor exploration; it would be so much fun! However for the time being Aliff Zafran seems to be pleased camping in front of TV set….plus he can watch his favorite cartoon, Mickey Mouse from the tunnel.

Here’s a sneak peek of Aliff Zafran goes camping.

It’s kind of difficult to snap a picture of him when he busy playing.

I told him I want to take a picture of him with the play set, he stop playing and pose. In fact, he stands perfectly still!

Tadaaa....take a look inside his tent, empty not even a sleeping blanket! Hehehe...but he seems "okay" with that!

Ahhh...this is his favourite part of the play set, the tunnel! If you couldn't find him anywhere in the house, just peek inside the tunnel!!

Crawling...crawling....crawling....fuhhh! Last time he crawls really slowly, now…huh! don’t think I can catch-up with him anymore!

Longest "Kek Lapis" in Malaysia

Sarawak bakers has break the Malaysia Book of Record for baking the longest “kek lapis” or layered cake for the nation. More than 20 skilled and semi-skilled bakers took 8 days (July 18 to 25) to bake the 14 meter long “kek lapis” measuring 0.19 meters wide and 0.4 meters height.

The layered cake worth approximately RM16,000 was produce in conjunction with celebration of the 45 years of Sarawak’s Independence in Malaysia.

The layered cake is kind of nice to look at but personally, I’m not a fan of layered cake. During Hari Raya a lot of my friends serve layered cake for guests, I have to admit the design really creative but the taste almost the same. Tasteless...owhh my personal opinion only :-)
The truth is, I am in Cheesecake Madness category (if there’s such category!!). These are the mouth-watering cheesecake I bake last week.

Marbled Cheesecake
I have always been looking for easy delicious recipes for cheesecake. This marbled cheesecake is easy, sweet, rich and very creamy.
.
.

Dark Chocolate Layered Cheesecake
This cake is so smooth, you'll swear your eating a...well, who knows what other food is so smooth..hehe..over-lah pulak!
.
.
.
Triple Layered Cheesecake
This is my all time favourite cheesecake. The bottom layer I mixed it with peanut butter, the middle and top layer were mixed with melted dark and white chocolate chip. Hmmm...yummuy yummy

Shopping online, bad habit for lean purse!!

Warghhh…so bored…not sure what to do today! I’m always in a foul mood when Monday comes…huh! Plus we have a late pay day! Emm….my Project Manager even worst, he didn’t even smile this morning…maybe no money, no smile..hehehe. Lucky I received my bonus last week, not really happy with the bonus this time – but hmmmm…never mind! I’m waiting patiently for my parcel, last Saturday I brought a lot of items online … I’m so good at “spending” my money, sitting in the office also can shopping!! Hehehe…

Balo Chili Slimming Gel & Waist Slimming Warp

I read a good review about this product so I decide to buy! It actually a slimming cream made of chili to help burn fats more effectively. It helps to break down excess fats, stimulates the blood and lymph circulation and accelerates the metabolism. Sounds promising ehh…one testimonial says it can reduce 2 inches after 1 week usage!! Just hope that I have to bear the hot cause the cream have varying degrees of heating due to skin type!

Taiwan Facial Mask

Ahhh…these mask so cheap yet it a hottest mask in Taiwan. It cost only RM2.40 per piece. I bought 4 different type of mask, Barccilus ferment, Levorotory, Milk Extract, Pearl Extract & Collagen Method. Different mask have different function, I mainly focus on the whitening, tighten pores, elasticity and prevent white head and uneven skin type of mask!

I also bought essence nose putty membrane, cost only RM1.20 per piece. Iskkk…too bad can’t find that kind of cheap mask in Kuching!!

Charcoal Masque

This charcoal masque is a product from Korea. Hmmm…it seems that all beauty products either come from Korea or Taiwan. I thought it kind of strange using charcoal as a mask! So I did a reading on it…so it so happen that charcoal which we also use for barbecues have a highly absorbent nature, so it often use to help detoxify chemical within the body to prevent any poison from spreading further. Hmmmm….it is said that the charcoal powder is one of the tradition raw ingredients that Japanese women use to nourish their skin over the centuries. It is economical yet effective in removing stubborn impurities & dead skin cells. Not sure about that yet….but it sure is very cheap for blackhead problem. I know one product, Cellnique skin action sebum gel which have so many testimonial of the effectiveness but quite expensive. I try this charcoal masque first hopefully it works on me!!

Result of chacoal mask - testimonial from customer.

Blouse
Also product from Taiwan…hehehe…not really sure where & when to wear these kind of blouse...but it’s kind of addictive to shop online! Just hoping it will fit me nicely :-)

SEX, it's not just for "PLEASURE" anymore!!

The Sex Fairy...be sure you read and comprehend every word. I didn't change the word! I'm not messing around with the Sex Fairy!
  • Sex is a beauty treatment. Scientific tests find that when women make love they produce amounts of the hormone estrogen, which makes hair shine and skin smooth.
  • Gentle, relax lovemaking reduces your chances of suffering dermatitis, skin rashes and blemishes. The sweat produced cleanses the pores and make your skin glow.
  • Lovemaking can burn up those calories you piled during that romantic dinner.
  • Sex is one of the safest sports you can take up. It stretches and tones up just about every muscle in the body. It's more enjoyable than swimming20 laps, and you don't need special sneakers!
  • Sex is an instant cure for mild depression. It releases endorphins into the bloodstream, producing a sense of euphoriaand leaving you with a feeling of well-being.

  • The more sex you have, the more you will be offered. The sexually active body gives off greater quantities of chemicals called pheromones. These subtle sex perfumes drive the opposite sex crazy!

  • Sex is the safest tranquilizer in the world. IT IS 10 TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE THAN VALIUM.
  • Kissing each day will keep the dentist away. Kissing encourages saliva to wash food from the teeth and lowers the level of the acid that causes decay, preventing plaque build-up.
  • Sex actually relieves headaches. A lovemaking session can release the tension that restricts blood vessels in the brain.
  • A lot of lovemaking can unblock a stuffy nose. Sex is a natural antihistamine. It can help combat asthma and hay fever.

Water - How Much We Need?

Water is your body's principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60% of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements.

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions.

Though uncommon, it is possible to drink too much water. Too much water consumed causes hyponatremia, a condition where there is insufficient sodium in the blood.

According to Mayoclinic.com there are several approaches attempt to approximate water needs for the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate.
  • Replacement approach. The average urine output for adults is about 1.5 liters (6.3 cups) a day. You lose close to an additional liter of water a day through breathing, sweating and bowel movements. Food usually accounts for 20 percent of your total fluid intake, so if you consume 2 liters of water or other beverages a day (a little more than 8 cups) along with your normal diet, you will typically replace the lost fluids.
  • Eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Another approach to water intake is the "8 x 8 rule" — drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day (about 1.9 liters). The rule could also be stated, "drink eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid a day," as all fluids count toward the daily total. Though the approach isn't supported by scientific evidence, many people use this basic rule as a guideline for how much water and other fluids to drink.
  • Dietary recommendations. The Institute of Medicine advises that men consume roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day and women consume 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day.
Even apart from the above approaches, if you drink enough fluid so that you rarely feel thirsty and produce 1.5 liters (6.3 cups) or more of colorless or slightly yellow urine a day, your fluid intake is probably adequate.

However, you may need to modify your total fluid intake depending on how active you are, the climate you live in, your health status, and if you're pregnant or breast-feeding.

CSI Losing Its Main Man

Apparently it's all gotten to be too much for Crime Scene Investigator Gil Grissom. Or, it will.

Calling it an actual signoff rather than yet another sabbatical, EW.com reports that William Petersen will be leaving CSI sometime midseason.

"Billy is leaving," series executive producer Carol Mendelsohn said. "But he will remain throughout the run of the series an executive producer. And he will, whenever CBS asks, come back. I don't think you've seen the last of Gil Grissom."

"My biggest problem with leaving the show at any point isn't leaving Grissom," said Petersen, whose previous leave of absence came when he took five weeks off to do theater in Rhode Island. "I'm an actor, it's time to do other things. "[The hard part will be saying goodbye] to the cast and crew. [So] I'm going to stay as involved as I'm allowed to be throughout the remainder of this show. Until they turn off all the lights."

By Natalie Finn
Article Source : E! Online, Inc.

After Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan last season...now its time for William Petersen a.k.a Dr. Gilbert Arthur "Gil" Grissom leaving the show.

Gil Grissom is the night shift supervisor for the Last Vegas CSI unit, and a forensic entomologist. On the sixth season finale "Way To Go" he has been in relationship with Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) and successfully proposed marriage to her in the eight season.

Now both Gil and Sara not in the series anymore!! Tsk...tsk...tsk....but the good news is that he will come back, that is if CBS want to.

Remember when we were in high school, the teacher ask us to fill-in 3 of our ambitions...well one of my ambition is to become a forensic detective, you know someone who solve the cold case using DNA and other evidence. Can't blame me, I was influenced by my father, he was a police officer! Maybe thats why I become CSI biggest fan apart of the high tech gadgets, the yet-to-invented technology and occasionally realm of fantasy.

Oh...my other ambition was to be a novelist...wait until you see my collection of romantic novels...hehehe

Infant dental check-up a must

Kuala Lumpur : With immediate effect, the Health Ministry is making dental and oral check-ups compulsary for infants as young as one year, at all government hospitals and clinics.

The minister, Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said this would be incorporated through the monthly medical check-up for infants.

"When parents bring their chlid for the monthly medical check-up, the child's oral hygnene will also be checked," he told reporters after opening the Sixth Conference on Paediatric Dentistry Association of Asia here yesterday.

He said the move was also in line with the ministry's aim to promote better oral and dental care for the people, except that this time, it included chlidren below four years of age.

"We believe that dental care should start as young as possible. Do not wait until the teeth rotten before seeking treatment," added Liow.

Source : The Borneo Post

I agree 101% with Datuk Liow!! Have no worries there because Aliff Zafran brush his teeth everyday....and the result?? He have such a clean and strong teeth...SEE ^_^

Lucky he do not have a habit to bite people with those teeth....hehehe...

In the name of BEAUTY

I’ve been busy recently…no no no….nothing to do with work…hehehehe…I’ve been browsing around the internet and got myself stuck at Cari Forum. I always visit that site but these days have been different because I enter “Beauty and Fashion Tips” forum!!

I’ve read a long thread about Jamu Mak Dara…..imagine reading about 59 pages of real people’s testimonial! I called them real because they are neither models nor celebrity. I really got hooked. I quickly make the purchase and received the product last Saturday. Yeehaaa…so now I’m “on diet” though quite frankly last few days I’ve been taking Mc Donald, ayam panggang, burger, pizza…so many thing lah…how to diet? Never mind…I’ll start all over again!! Never give up trying… :-)
Here how Jamu Mak Dara will make a different for me...sorry too lazy to translate in English...
- Membuang toksik didalam badan
- Membuang angin
- Menyuburkan rahim
- Masalah keputihan
- Merapatkan faraj
- Memberi tenaga, cergas seawal pagi.
- Membetulkan sistem kitaran haid
- Membakar lemak dan menurunkan berat badan
- Mengurangkan bau badan
- Menambahkan nafsu syahwat
- Mengurangkan sakit pinggang dan lemah tubuh badan
- Awet muda
.

On Monday, I once again visit that Forum….I must’ve got addicted or something hehehe....I saw a thread about BB Cream (also known as Blemish Balm)….this product really make me excited. Really…have a look at the picture below and you know what I mean!

I try to look this product all around Kuching with no luck! So just now, I purchase BB Cream Skin79 online…quite expensive though. I don’t have any skin problem…I’ve been using SK II for 2 years now and it seem ok but well being a woman…we never satisfied .. of course we want a “perfect” skin. Is there’s such thing as perfect skin?

Anyway, here something worth reading ......It is not only skincare product, but also make-up product. They are certified different function such as :
- sun protection
- winkle free
- Whitening
- Moisturizing function
- Excellently concealing any types of pigmentation or discoloration area
- Provide coverage without clogging skin pores.

For someone whose not wearing heavy make-up like me…I think BB cream is simply great because it can replace make-up base/premier and foundation! Wah!

I was never a beauty conscious but if these 2 products can make me look good…well its worth trying!! As for now I banned myself from entering the “Beauty & Fashion Tips” forum again....banned until I got bonus that is…otherwise die-lah every month pokai!!

Why I Prefer Government JOB....

The Four Cats

Four men were bragging about how smart their cats were.

The first man was an Engineer,
the second man was an Accountant,
the third man was a Chemist, and
the fourth man was a Government Employee.

To show off, the Engineer called his cat, 'T-square, do your stuff.'

T-square pranced over to the desk, took out some paper and pen and promptly drew a circle, a square, and a triangle.

Everyone agreed that was pretty smart.

But the Accountant said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said, 'Spreadsheet, do your stuff.'

Spreadsheet went out to the kitchen and returned with a dozen cookies. He divided them into 4 equal piles of 3 cookies.

Everyone agreed that was good.

But the Chemist said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said, 'Measure, do your stuff.'

Measure got up, walked to the fridge, took out a quart of milk, got a 10 ounce glass from the cupboard and poured exactly 8 ounces without spilling a drop into the glass.

Everyone agreed that was pretty good.

Then the three men turned to the Government Employee and said, 'What can your cat do?'

The Government Employee called his cat and said, 'Coffee Break, do your stuff.'

Coffee Break jumped to his feet.......
..................ate the cookies
...........................drank the milk
..................................sh*t on the paper
...........................................screwed the other three cats
.......................................................claimed he injured his back while doing so.......

Filed a grievance report for unsafe working conditions

Natural Family Planning

After more than 1 year taking birth control pills, I decided to opt for natural family planning. My reason is very simple….I’ve gained weight!! After giving birth, I’ve asked the doctor whether the pills will affect my weight; she said it’s a myth! According to her taking pills does have side effects which are headaches, breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting, bloating, decreased sex drive (libido) and depression but not weight gain!!

Yeah right!! I have experience most of the side effect as well as gaining weight! When I met the doctor again explaining my weight problems, she simply said, well why don’t you take this pills….she was talking about the most expensive pills…maybe not so expensive for some people but RM56 per months is rather costly for me!

I decided to write about the natural family planning because I hope by writing this article I can understand more how this method works. Until this moment I still have doubts whether it will works for me or not!

Here’s how natural family planning works….

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a means of preventing pregnancy by avoiding unprotected intercourse during a woman’s fertile period, when she’s most likely to become pregnant. Natural family planning is based upon certain facts about a woman's eggs and a man's sperm:
  • A woman has two ovaries, one on each side of the uterus. Each month, one of the ovaries releases an egg into a fallopian tube. This is called ovulation. It typically occurs about 12–14 days before the start of the menstrual period.
  • For example, if a woman has a regular 28 day menstrual cycle, counting the first day of her period as day one, then she will usually ovulate on day 14. If her cycle lasts 32 days, then she usually ovulates on day 18.
  • Once ovulation has occurred, the sperm has only 24 hours within which to fertilize the egg in the woman's Fallopian tubes.
  • Sperm can survive for up to seven days following intercourse
The Menstrual Cycle

The ‘typical’ menstrual cycle occurs regularly over 28 days. Most women have cycles with an interval that lasts from 21 to 35 days. The woman’s cycle must be regular to identify the three phases of fertility during each menstrual cycle.

The first phase is the first infertile phase, or the first safe period when the woman is unlikely to fall pregnant. This starts on the first day of the woman's period and ends on the earliest date from which sperm could survive long enough to fertilize the egg. This first safe period is short because sperm can survive for up to seven days after intercourse and a woman may ovulate early. Therefore, unprotected intercourse during this first phase may result in pregnancy.

The fertile phase is the time when a woman is most likely to fall pregnant. If pregnancy is desired then this is the time when a woman is most likely to conceive. The fertile phase lasts from the end of the first phase until 24 hours after ovulation.

The second infertile phase or safe period when a woman is less likely to fall pregnant is more predictable than the first phase. This phase lasts from the end of the fertile phase until the beginning of the woman's next period.

Menstruation is a very complicated process involving many different hormones, the woman's sex organs and the brain. However, the menstrual cycle doesn’t have to be a drag, it actually shows how complex your body is and a sign that it is functioning properly! Congratulations you are a woman and being a woman is terrific.

There are few methods for Natural Family Planning but after extensive reading about NFP, I think there are 2 methods which is (for me) easy to understand and used i.e Calendar Method and Two Days Method.

The Calendar Method

To calculate the fertile days using the calendar method a woman first must determine the length of her menstrual cycle in days. Day one of the menstrual cycle is the first day of period bleeding and the last day of cycle is the day before bleeding begins with the next period. By doing this for several months a woman who has slightly irregular cycles can determine the range of her fertile cycle.

The first day of the fertile phase is found by subtracting 18 days from the length of the shortest cycle. To find the last day of the fertile phase, subtract 11 days from the longest cycle. In this sample, the shortest menstrual cycle in the past 6 months was 28 days. The longest menstrual cycle in the past 6 months was 31 days.

To calculate the fertile phase:
Subtract 19 from the shortest cycle (28 days) = 10
Subtract 11 from the longest cycle (31 days) = 20

This means the first day of the fertile phase is Day 10. The last day of the fertile phase is Day 20. If a couple is using this method to avoid pregnancy, they would not have sex during Day 10–Day 20 of the woman's menstrual cycle.

The effectiveness of calendar method is 87%. This means that 13 put of 100 women practicing this method for one year will get pregnant. This calendar method isn’t dependable if your cycles vary in length

Two Day Method

The Two Day Method is a new simple approach to NFP. It relies on a simple algorithm to help women identify when they are fertile, based upon the presence or absence of cervical secretion.

If you decide to use the Two Day Method, check for cervical mucus at the vulva or on toilet paper two times each day: once in the afternoon and once before bed. Ask yourself two questions. Do I have any secretions today? Did I have any secretions yesterday? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then you should avoid unprotected intercourse, because you might be fertile. If the answer to both questions is no (two days in a row without secretions), then you’re not in a fertile part of your cycle and can have unprotected intercourse.

Many woman use a chart to mark fertile and infertile days, as well as the start of each cycle. It’s important for women using this method to know how to recognize cervical mucus.

The effectiveness of Two Day Method is 86%. In other words, out of 100 women using Two Day Method over one year, 14 get pregnant.
