Why I Prefer Government JOB....

The Four Cats

Four men were bragging about how smart their cats were.

The first man was an Engineer,
the second man was an Accountant,
the third man was a Chemist, and
the fourth man was a Government Employee.

To show off, the Engineer called his cat, 'T-square, do your stuff.'

T-square pranced over to the desk, took out some paper and pen and promptly drew a circle, a square, and a triangle.

Everyone agreed that was pretty smart.

But the Accountant said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said, 'Spreadsheet, do your stuff.'

Spreadsheet went out to the kitchen and returned with a dozen cookies. He divided them into 4 equal piles of 3 cookies.

Everyone agreed that was good.

But the Chemist said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said, 'Measure, do your stuff.'

Measure got up, walked to the fridge, took out a quart of milk, got a 10 ounce glass from the cupboard and poured exactly 8 ounces without spilling a drop into the glass.

Everyone agreed that was pretty good.

Then the three men turned to the Government Employee and said, 'What can your cat do?'

The Government Employee called his cat and said, 'Coffee Break, do your stuff.'

Coffee Break jumped to his feet.......
..................ate the cookies
...........................drank the milk
..................................sh*t on the paper
...........................................screwed the other three cats
.......................................................claimed he injured his back while doing so.......

Filed a grievance report for unsafe working conditions
...........put in for Workers Compensation and
.....................went home for the rest of the day on sick leave.

I think thats why alot of my friends want to work for the government!!! Hehehehe.....sorry ya just kidding!

Natural Family Planning

After more than 1 year taking birth control pills, I decided to opt for natural family planning. My reason is very simple….I’ve gained weight!! After giving birth, I’ve asked the doctor whether the pills will affect my weight; she said it’s a myth! According to her taking pills does have side effects which are headaches, breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting, bloating, decreased sex drive (libido) and depression but not weight gain!!

Yeah right!! I have experience most of the side effect as well as gaining weight! When I met the doctor again explaining my weight problems, she simply said, well why don’t you take this pills….she was talking about the most expensive pills…maybe not so expensive for some people but RM56 per months is rather costly for me!

I decided to write about the natural family planning because I hope by writing this article I can understand more how this method works. Until this moment I still have doubts whether it will works for me or not!

Here’s how natural family planning works….

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a means of preventing pregnancy by avoiding unprotected intercourse during a woman’s fertile period, when she’s most likely to become pregnant. Natural family planning is based upon certain facts about a woman's eggs and a man's sperm:
  • A woman has two ovaries, one on each side of the uterus. Each month, one of the ovaries releases an egg into a fallopian tube. This is called ovulation. It typically occurs about 12–14 days before the start of the menstrual period.
  • For example, if a woman has a regular 28 day menstrual cycle, counting the first day of her period as day one, then she will usually ovulate on day 14. If her cycle lasts 32 days, then she usually ovulates on day 18.
  • Once ovulation has occurred, the sperm has only 24 hours within which to fertilize the egg in the woman's Fallopian tubes.
  • Sperm can survive for up to seven days following intercourse
The Menstrual Cycle

The ‘typical’ menstrual cycle occurs regularly over 28 days. Most women have cycles with an interval that lasts from 21 to 35 days. The woman’s cycle must be regular to identify the three phases of fertility during each menstrual cycle.

The first phase is the first infertile phase, or the first safe period when the woman is unlikely to fall pregnant. This starts on the first day of the woman's period and ends on the earliest date from which sperm could survive long enough to fertilize the egg. This first safe period is short because sperm can survive for up to seven days after intercourse and a woman may ovulate early. Therefore, unprotected intercourse during this first phase may result in pregnancy.

The fertile phase is the time when a woman is most likely to fall pregnant. If pregnancy is desired then this is the time when a woman is most likely to conceive. The fertile phase lasts from the end of the first phase until 24 hours after ovulation.

The second infertile phase or safe period when a woman is less likely to fall pregnant is more predictable than the first phase. This phase lasts from the end of the fertile phase until the beginning of the woman's next period.

Menstruation is a very complicated process involving many different hormones, the woman's sex organs and the brain. However, the menstrual cycle doesn’t have to be a drag, it actually shows how complex your body is and a sign that it is functioning properly! Congratulations you are a woman and being a woman is terrific.

There are few methods for Natural Family Planning but after extensive reading about NFP, I think there are 2 methods which is (for me) easy to understand and used i.e Calendar Method and Two Days Method.

The Calendar Method

To calculate the fertile days using the calendar method a woman first must determine the length of her menstrual cycle in days. Day one of the menstrual cycle is the first day of period bleeding and the last day of cycle is the day before bleeding begins with the next period. By doing this for several months a woman who has slightly irregular cycles can determine the range of her fertile cycle.

The first day of the fertile phase is found by subtracting 18 days from the length of the shortest cycle. To find the last day of the fertile phase, subtract 11 days from the longest cycle. In this sample, the shortest menstrual cycle in the past 6 months was 28 days. The longest menstrual cycle in the past 6 months was 31 days.

To calculate the fertile phase:
Subtract 19 from the shortest cycle (28 days) = 10
Subtract 11 from the longest cycle (31 days) = 20

This means the first day of the fertile phase is Day 10. The last day of the fertile phase is Day 20. If a couple is using this method to avoid pregnancy, they would not have sex during Day 10–Day 20 of the woman's menstrual cycle.

The effectiveness of calendar method is 87%. This means that 13 put of 100 women practicing this method for one year will get pregnant. This calendar method isn’t dependable if your cycles vary in length

Two Day Method

The Two Day Method is a new simple approach to NFP. It relies on a simple algorithm to help women identify when they are fertile, based upon the presence or absence of cervical secretion.

If you decide to use the Two Day Method, check for cervical mucus at the vulva or on toilet paper two times each day: once in the afternoon and once before bed. Ask yourself two questions. Do I have any secretions today? Did I have any secretions yesterday? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then you should avoid unprotected intercourse, because you might be fertile. If the answer to both questions is no (two days in a row without secretions), then you’re not in a fertile part of your cycle and can have unprotected intercourse.

Many woman use a chart to mark fertile and infertile days, as well as the start of each cycle. It’s important for women using this method to know how to recognize cervical mucus.

The effectiveness of Two Day Method is 86%. In other words, out of 100 women using Two Day Method over one year, 14 get pregnant.

Power - Part 1

For those who want power, watch power, or want to arm themselves with power....The 48 Laws of Power written by Robert Greene is a piercing distillation of three thousand years of the history of power.

Law 1 - Never outshine the master
Always make those above you feel confortably superior. In your desire tp please or impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite - inspire fear and insecurity. Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the height of power.

Law 2 - Never put too much trust in friends, learn how to use enemies
Be wary of friends - they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.

Law 3 - Conceal your intentions
Keep people off-balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense. Guide them far enough down the wrong path, envelop them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions, it will be too late.

Law 4 - Always say less than necessary
When you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control. Even if you are saying something banal, it will seem original if you make it vague, open minded, and sphinxlike. Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less. The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish.

Law 5 - So much depends on reputation - guard it with your life
Reputation is the cornerstone of power. Through reputation alone you can intimidate and win; once it slips, however, you are vulnerable, and will be attacked on all sides. Make your reputation unassailable. Always be alert to potential attacks and thwart them before they happen. Meanwhile, learn to destroy your enemies by opening holes in their own reputations. Then stand aside and let public opinion hang them.

Law 6 - Court attention at all cost
Everything is judged by its appearance; what is unseen counts nothing. Never let yourself get lost in the crowd, then, or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Be conspicious, at all cost. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colourful, and more mysterious than the bland and timid masses.

Law 7 - Get others to do the work for you, but always take the credit
Use wisdom, knowledge, and legwork of other people to further your own cause. Not only will such assistance save you valuable time and energy, it will give you a godlike aura of efficiency and speed. In the end your helpers will be forgotten and you will be remembered. Never do yourself what others can do for you.

Law 8 - Make other people come to you - use bait if necessary
When you force other person to act, you are in control. It is always better to make your opponent come to you, abandoning his own plans in the process. Lure him with fabulous gains - then attack. You hold the cards.

Law 9 - Win through actions, never through argument
Any momentary triumph you think you have gained through argument is really a Phrrhic victory: The resentment and ill will you stir up is stronger and lasts longer than any momentary change of opinion. It is much more powerful to get others to agree with you through your actions, without saying a word. Demonstrate, do not explicate.

Law 10 - Infection : Avoid the unhappy and unlucky
You can die from someone else's misery - emotional states are as infections as diseases. You may feel you are helping the drowning man but you are only precipitating your own disaster. The unfortunate sometimes draw misfortune on themselves; they will also draw it on you. Associate with the happy and fortunate instead.

Law 11 - Learn to keep people dependent on you
To maintain your independence you must always be needen and wanted. The more you are relied on, the more freedon you have. Make people depend on you for their happiness and prosperity and you have nothing to fear. Never teach them enough so that they can do without you.

Law 12 - Use selective honesty and generosity to disarm your victim
One sincere and honest move will cover over dosend of dishonest ones. Open-hearted gestures of honesty and generosity bring down the guard of even the most suspicious people. Once your selective honesty opens a hole in their armor, you can deceive and manipulate them at will. A timely gift - a Trojan horse - will serve the same purpose.

Law 13 - When asking for help, appeal to people's self interest, never to their mercy or gratitude
If you need to turn to an ally for help, do not bother to remind him of your past assistance and good deeds. He will find a way to ignore you. Instead, uncover something in your request, or in your alliance with him, that will benefit him, and emphasize it out of all proportion. He will respond enthusiatically when he sees something to be gained for himself.

Law 14 - Pose as a friend, work as a spy
Knowing about your rival is critical. Use spies to gather valuable information that will keep you step ahead. Better still : Play the spy yourself. In polite social encounters, learn to probe. Ask indirect questions to get people to reveal their weakness and intentions. There is no occation that is not an opportunity for artful spying.

Law 15 - Crush your enemy totally
All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. (Sometimes they have learned this the hard way). If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation : The enemy will recover, and will seek revange. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.

Law 16 - Use absence to increase respect and honor
Too much circulation makes the price go down. The more you seen and heard from, the more common you appear. If you are already established in a group, temporary withdrawal from it will make you more talked about, even more admired. You must learn when to leave. Create value scarcity.

The laws of power are important for our knowledge...not because we want to gain power but the usage or influence of power is one of the most crucial needs for us to understand in order to face the challenges in our life. Laws of power can be apply at work, in relationship, on the street....simply everywhere!!

As for me, I'll be extra cautious with someone who have power or who want to gain power because they can be very cunning, ruthless and instructive....just make sure you understand the laws to avoid yourself become a "convenient scapegoat". Nothing is stable in the realm of power, even the closest of friends can be transformed into the worst of enemies.

There are another 32 laws which are equally important, I will post it when I'm free :-).

Walk the talk

KUCHING: It looks like the government’s latest cost-cutting measure is taking a foothold here with several ministers riding bicycles to ‘work’ yesterday morning.

Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob rode a bicycle from Kuching Hilton to Kuching Waterfront to attend a function.

In his leisurely stroll along Main Bazaar Sabri’s was joined by, among others, Assistant Minister of Tourism Hamden Ahmad and Pantai Damai assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

Arriving at 7.45am at the function venue, a bemused crowd of several hundreds would not have recognised the VIPs if not for an announcement to welcome them.

Its good to hear the Minister walks the talk and rides bicycle to 'work'. But Kuching Hilton to Kuching Waterfront is such a short distance!!! Eventhough I'm not a sportsperson, it will take me hmmmm ....... say maybe 10 minutes to run from Kuching Hilton to Kuching Waterfront .... and maybe 5 minutes riding a bicycle?? I may exaggerating though....but imagine if I have to ride the bicycle from Petra Jaya to my work place at Kota Samarahan!! By the time I arrive...I pengsan liaw!!

"Bigfoot" was here?

DARO: Villagers here are reeling from the shock of discovering two extra large footprints near the fence of a nearby orchard. The large footprints was found by Resident of Kampung Ulu Daro.

They probably resembled those mentioned many times in foreign reports in claims of sightings of the mysterious ‘Bigfoot’.

According to Wikipedia, Bigfoot is one of the more famous creatures in cryptozoology, and, like many cryptids around the world, there is a fierce debate as to whether the Bigfoot species exists or not. Cryptozoologist John Willison Green has postulated that Bigfoot is a worldwide phenomenon.

The footprints have sparked a debate of whether they are genuine or fake.

For some believers in Daro, they said the prints were linked to unclean spirits. Others even asked whether there were oversized beasts in Sarawak.

Countless people around the world claimed to have seen the hairy hominoid Bigfoot, but the evidence of its existence is fuzzy.

For those who never been to Sarawak, Daro is a district and small town in Mukah Division, Sarawak. The nearest town in Daro is Matu.

If you plan to come to Mukah, make it between mid-March and early April to celebrate Kaul Festival....wah siap promote!!

Pluto

Pluto is no more a Planet. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) delcared that Pluto now will be known as a "plutoid".

The new IAU definition of plutoid: "Plutoids are celestial bodies in orbit around the sun at a distance greater than that of Neptune that have sufficient mass for their self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that they assume a hydrostatic equilibrium (near-spherical) shape, and that have not cleared the neighborhood around their orbit."

In short: small round things beyond Neptune that orbit the sun and have lots of rocky neighbors.

The IAU has changed the definition of "planet" so that Pluto no longer qualifies. There are now officially only eight planets in our solar system.

My 2 days at Post Office

1st Day

With my enthusiasm to get the cash rebate on last saturday, 14 June 2008, I went to to the nearby Post Office at Choice Supermall...imagine my shock when I saw massive crowd when I drove by the post office...geezz...it was 7:30a.m at that time...and here I thought I want to have some breakfast and then queue-up for my turn. And so I have some breakfast with hope that the people getting tired to lined up and go back home...hehehe.

After breakfast, I went to Batu Kawa Post Office just to checked the crowd....hmmm not a compromising situation...everybody was pushing at each other....no so called the Malaysian hospitality.......so I just give up the idea and drove back to Choice Supermall.

It was already 10a.m when I arrived at Choice Supermall Post Office. Not so many people...so I went in and get the form...the lady give me the number....my number is 233

...the number at that time is 61....imagine that!! However, its much much better compared with Batu Kawa Post Office cause nobody pushing at each other to get the money!! I spend one hour shopping at Choice Supermall and went back home...eat...sleep for a while... At 12p.m I went there again, but to my dissapointment the number at that time is 128 hmmm....I go home again and rest....lucky though my house is very near. At 1:30p.m I went there once again and the number is 182...I give up...not because I don't want to wait anymore but because they already out of cash...they are giving postal money instead!! So I thought I will try again on Monday, 17 June 2008 since I'm on leave that day!

2nd Day

I went to the Main Post Office around 9:45a.m after a "huge" breakfast because I want to be mentally and physically ready for my new challenge - Battle for Cash Rebate. I went there and fill-in the form again! After that I checked whether my car eligible for RM625 cash rebate. Only after that I'm allowed to queue-up at Counter 6, 7 or 8....my my my...its even worst than Batu Kawa Post Office let alone Choice Supermall Post Office...everybody was like "sardine". 1 counter can have 4 or 5 line and everybody were pushing one another!! I already have a 2nd thought whether to join the crowd or come back another time. But I decide to queue-up because I got the feeling that my boss won't allowed me to take any more leave after this!

So I queue-up, after 15 minutes, I was getting nowhere!! The queue not moving foward...in fact its not moving at all!! Geezz....why can't the Main Post Office use numbering system!! So I decide its time to act! I start making my move through the ocean of people.....squeezing myself (as if I'm so small...hehehehe)..at that time nobody care whether you are queue-up or you just simply jump queue....there's no rules at all...everybody was being selfish and pushing to get the money! When I finally at the 2nd row, I asked the Post Office's personel whether I can submit my form first then he'll call me later...of course I was being extra nice at that time.....thats called girl power....hehehehe......lucky the guy was very kind -imagine how many people he have to deal that day! When I submit the form, I also collect forms from others especially ladies and old peoples....sometimes I'm being selective...hehehe....within 15 minutes I'm all smiles with the money in my hand!
Mission accomplished at 10:30a.m!! However, on behalf of the ladies and old peoples, I do hope that Post Office implementing the numbering system...or simply give priority especially to old peoples and pregnant ladies.

Gambier road hawkers moved by 15 June

"Fish dealers and hawkers of Gambier Street market have appealed for another six month’s extension before relocation to the new market in Stutong as one month’s notice is considered too short.

Federation of Kuching Samarahan Hawkers president Kapitan Lim Sin Khee, who is also the chairman for Kuching Fish Dealers Association, said they received notice on May 15 asking them to move to the new market by June 15 ‘but there are many things which are not fully prepared as yet’."

Source : The Borneo Post

We understand the need to relocate the old market place as it is part of Kuching Waterfront expansion but I think government should listened to the hawkers and give them more time. One month really is a short notice!!!

The Stutong New Wet Market is located opposite Kuching Specialist.

No more petrol price increases this year

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said to stem any more increase, the Government would have to think of alternative ways to finance its spending.

“Since the Government announced the new price last week, fuel prices have gone up to US$139 per barrel and is still hovering at US$130."

“In fact, the price of oil is expected to remain at high levels in the months to come. The high price of oil means that the market price of petrol at the pumps have now reached RM3.45 per litre,” he said, pointing out that the price should be reviewed to RM3.15 per litre (with a discount of 30 sen) instead of RM2.70 beginning next month.

“However, the Government realised that the rakyat is still trying to adapt to the higher petrol prices. The Cabinet has thus decided there will be no more increase this year,” he told reporters at his office yesterday

Good to hear that PM realise that rakyat are suffering of higher petrol price! He only mentioned petrol price but what about diesel? I hope he will not change his mind again and give us another surprise! We all know our PM like surprises....

Baby Language

Do you know baby actually can talk!

Every newborn communicates from birth to 3 months uses 5 distinct sounds that signal hunger, tiredness, need to burp, lower wind/gas and discomfort. This is regardless of the language their parents speak. It is not a learned language. Rather, it is a natural way for every baby to express their physical needs.

The ‘words’ that form the basis are sounds that are based on baby’s physical responses.

Check out your baby sound :

Neh = I’m so hungry
Owh = I’m Sleepy
Heh = Change me
Eaith = I have to wind
Eh = Blurb

So, next time our baby makes those sound and cries, we will able to interpret and respond to their need quickly and effectively. Cool ehh? Check also the cool video above – amazing!!

Ezora Vs. Secreto de Amor (Part 2)

Kalau sapa2 lupa crita nie…maklumlah crita lama….tengok video atas tu!!

Kalau masih juga tak ingat....coba korang baca skrip nie...
”DIA BELOM KENAL SIAPA AKU....AKULAH BARBARA SERRANO ZULBARAN”

Ingat tak? hehehehehe....

Ezora Vs. Secreto De Amor (Part 1)

Semalam aku bertekak ngan husband aku pasal crita Ezora nie...bukan apa aku macam tau-tau je jalan cerita, macam pernah tengok...hehehehe.....yelah sebelom Reza & Ezora kawin tu kan banyak musibab – dahlah reza kena berenti kerja, mak sakit lah (pas tu mati!), adik dia minah cukur…logik fikir takkanlah semuanya kebetulan!! Aikkkk kebetulan pulak ker Ezora tu pandai jahit menjahit.

Kalau bertekak ngan husband aku, dia memang nak menang jer, biar-in saja dia menang! Sebab aku tau kat blog nie aku tetap ngetop!! Nie aku nak bagi sikit sipnosis crita Secreto De Amor...pandai-pandai ler korang check sendiri persamaan nya....

Summary of Secreto de Amor

Maria Clara (nie heroin...Ezora ler tu) is a modern girl, hardworking and willing to confront the world on behalf of her small family. She is about to realize her dream of marrying her longtime boyfriend, Carlos Raúl Fonseca (bf/tunang/husband Ezora – Reza), a local mechanic. But only 20 days before the wedding, Carlos Raul loses his job and he asks Maria Clara to postpone the wedding so that he can go to Miami to find work. Carlos Raul travels to the USA in search of a better future. Maria Clara waits behind, heartbroken. When her mother dies suddenly of a heart attack, Maria Clara follows the advice of her aunt and decides to travel to Miami to find her boyfriend. The last thing she imagined was that he had found himself another woman: Barbara Serrano Zulbaran (Dynaz), a haughty but beautiful and wealthy woman, who had fallen immediately in love with Carlos Raul and promoted him to manage her chain of hotels. Carlos Raul somersaults from poverty into the high life in the blink of an eye. He is all set to marry Barbara, but then Maria Clara shows up.

Sama tak?? Or kebetulan? Fikir2kan lah...hehehehe

Cost-cutting to save RM2 billion

" PM announces government cost cutting measures

PUTRAJAYA: The entertainment allowances of ministers and deputy ministers will be slashed and their paid holidays will now be limited to local and Asean destinations.

These as well as several other steps, including a freeze on new government posts and assets purchase, would save the Government RM2bil.

The slashing of allowances and limitation on paid holidays take effect on July 1. Even the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister will not be spared this new ruling."

Now, PM's entertainment allowance is reduced by RM1,886.50 and DPM suffers a cut of RM1,501.50. 10% only? Why not 50% - baru gempak!! What about other allowances - no cutting?? Wah...the entertainment allowance alone is more than my salary....I wonder who do they entertain?

78 cents

Now we can enjoy extra 41% fuel price! Great!!! I was thinking 40 cents will be maximum increament....but 78 cents increase....way way beyond my expectation. Thanks for making rakyat life miserable!!

First our Prime Minister announced that only in August all the subsidy plan will be effective and not even 24 hours he declared the price increament. The same happened to the PRU12, before election when everyone was wondering if he would dissolve parliament on the 13 which is his favourate number...he said no, but did so the next day.....our Prime Minister do love surprises.

However, fret not, we'll all be getting some benefits.

As extracted from The Star:

"Abdullah also announced a RM625 annual cash rebate per vehicle, for owners of private vehicles with engine capacities of up to 2,000cc, as well as pickup trucks and jeeps with engine capacities of up to 2,500cc.

Owners of private motorcycles with engine capacities of up to 250cc will receive RM150.

Payment will be made via Money Order upon renewal of road tax, from July 1.

For owners of private vehicles with engine capacities exceeding 2000cc, road tax will be reduced by RM200.Owners of private motorcycles with engine capacities above 250 cc will get RM50 reduction in road tax."

Yay!! Yeah right!! I don't understand why can't the government staggered the increase. The sudden increase of 78 cents is shocking. Really greedy blood sucker!!

Fuel price increase !!!!

Imagine my disappointment when I read the newspaper yesterday - "Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad on Monday hinted that petrol and diesel prices may go up beginning August."

So brace yourself!!! Petrol price will increased by 40 cents per litre. We'll have to pay RM2.32 per litre ...huh!! So much for changing my car from Wira to Kelisa....thought it will help ease the burden of the fuel price. Now have to change to bicycle...erkkk!! Kesian.....

Government of Malaysia said "UBAH CARA HIDUP". Maknanya ....

Kalau harga petrol naik, jangan naik kenderaan guna petrol,
NAIK BASIKAL.
Kalau harga beras naik, jangan makan nasi,
MAKAN KENTANG & KELEDEK.
Kalau harga tepung naik, jangan makan roti,
MAKAN BISKUT KERING.
Kalau semua harga barang naik?? Jangan makan, minum air je!
Lagi afdal kalau minum air kosong lagi jimat!!!

Ct : Upset upset.......
