Consider this a fair warning

I never like Mondays because after a short weekend, I become lazy and unproductive especially on Monday. Everybody (in my office- that is) came late to work yesterday - 8:30 a.m is late o-kay? We start work on 8:00 a.m on the dot.

Yesterday, like any Monday that have passed, I was in a blurry state. Probably the night before I didn't sleep well. No, this time is not like my sons have fever or what  - I sleep late cause I was hooked up reading the thriller book by Stieg Larsson - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I seldom read thriller/mystery books (Read : I'm not Dan Brown's fan) but Larsson has really fascinate me.The characters in this book felt oddly familiar to me, quirks and all. Once Larsson got into it and started digging deeper into the plot and revealing more details, my head started spinning and I had smoke coming out of my ears (hypothetically speaking). I wasn’t expecting to be sucked in so quickly by the plot but I did! So, you have to understand the urgent need on my part to quickly finished the book.

I wish sometimes we can press on the escape button - to go somewhere else for a while - In my case to read!! Hye, it's not wrong to read you know, our government encourage us to read, we even have campaign to read in the public transport and sleeping with book! (uhuh..p/s : Please don't make a stunt and read during office hours like me - it's not wrong to read but it's unethical)

Needless to say, I manage to finished reading the book by 12:00 p.m. Bravo to my wicked act. (Sorry boss, don't worry about the report - you know I'll complete it on time. - I am after all - very efficient...daaaa :-)) I must say that this book entertaining right up to the last sentence. Lingers in the mind long after the book is finished. Geez. Can't wait to read the sequel.

What am I bragging about? Iskk....I was actually want to share this quote from the book :

"Never engage in fighting you're sure to lose. On the other hand, never let anyone who has insulted you get away with it. Bide your time and strike back when you're in a position of strength - even if you no longer need to strike back." - Hendrik Vanger, The girl with the dragon tattoo - Steig Larsson

Don't you agree? Don't fight the battle that you will lose. Oh and never-never fight with the pig, you both get dirty but the pig likes it!

Throughout my working life, I've met few people that I really detest. People that I wish I can spit on their face and say fuck off!! (But of course I never did that, just in my imagination) I think in most organisation these kind of people does exist, though in different forms and sexes.

Mr. CYA (Cover Your Ass)
I often heard this phrase - "We have to cover our ass!" Sounds familiar? This person, his work is to "protect himself" or you can say "protect his ass". He would make excuses, act dim-witted, sometimes even pretending he doesn't heard or know anything. This to avoid him to be held responsible on whatever it is - be it his work, or be it the lousy tea that the tea lady prepare this morning..heheh. To the extend, if the circumstances allows, he would recorded every comment that other people made. He actually spend more time on his CYA activities than on getting real work done. I think his CYA activities is very demanding and tiring.

Mr. JYE (Justify Your Existence)

Hu hu hu...this guy, you may have a good laugh at him first. But when the situation repeated, you will get annoyed to the point you want to bang his head on the wall!! How to describe this guy in the simplest way...hmm. Imagine this situation, when the management have a site visit, you will see this guy at the front row, try hard to answer and make conversation with the bosses, when in actual fact he is just a (let say) office boy. What I'm trying to say is that, this guy, to some extend, was in absurd manner trying to get recognize. Oh well, to be direct - He's a cock sucker. (Pardon my language)

Mr. BTOB (Blame The Other Bloke)

This is a person who always point his finger to other person without cleaning his finger first. He is some sort of Mr. Pious and Clean to the management because on the surface he's excellent in his work - never makes mistakes. Excellent my ass!! How can you never makes mistakes in your work? Unless of course you never did anything!! He exist in the organisation and get recognition with something that he never did. Duuh!!. Whenever something wrong happen, he would quickly blame another person - if there no other person to be blame, he would blame the computer, table, chair or even the lousy pen just to ensure someone or something get the blame. I think he must've feel superior by blaming others.Unfortunately, there are people who actually believe in what he said - and worst if the top management believe him.

Mr. RM (Retarded Manager)
RM not stands for Ringgit Malaysia ya. It's actually the initial for Retarded Manager. This manager have all the three character above, CYA, JYE & BTOB. Why does he still in the management team? I don't know - don't ask me, ask the management team. Or maybe they are retarded as well?

If there ever these kind of people in your company, don't mess with them. These people are spoil and tyrannical. If they ever insulted you, and you want to strike back like the quote says - here my advise : Crush them totally - crush them not only in body but in spirit. If you don't - they will recover and seek revenge.

For me, I wouldn't want to waste my time to deal with these people, revenge is horrid. Revenge never does anyone any good. Move onwards and upwards with your life. Consider this a fair warning. Cheers!!

Flu + Cough + Fever = Catastrophe week

This week has been a very tiring week for me. First Aliff has a fever. Usually when he has a fever, it last about a day or two only. This time, it was like the whole week - fever + flu + cough. We went to Normah Medical on Monday to see Dr. Alex, unfortunately he's on leave. He's Aliff favourite doctor. So, we have to see Dr. George. Unlike Dr. Alex, Dr George treat a patient as a patient (you get what I mean?) whereas Dr. Alex is more relax - usually he have this small talk with Aliff, encourage him to play the xylophone then ask Aliff to open wide his mouth while he check his sore throat. In short, Aliff really loves Dr. Alex, plus Dr. Alex was the first person to hold him when he was born.

 Aliff favourite instrument - Xylophone

By today, Aliff almost recover. Not fully recover though, still have flu and a bit of cough. The sad news is that, on Friday, Arfan also catch a flu. No fever in the beginning but by midnight he has all 3 - flu, cough and fever! So today, once again we have to go to Normah Medical. Luckily, this time Dr. Alex is around. Arfan have to undergo nap treatment - poor kid. He's a tough guy, he didn't cry at all. I'm just hoping both of them to get well really soon...cause I'm really tired.

The whole week, I didn't get to sleep well. Every night either Aliff or Arfan will woke up, sometimes both of them due to bad cough. For mommy out there, here's a good tips for you, you can reduce your child's night time cough by rubbing Vicks Vapor Rub on their feet, then putting the kid's socks on, and letting them go to bed. This really works for both my sons but then again they refuse to wore socks, so every now and then I have to rub vicks on their feet. Their coughing would subsided and literally stopped coughing all together.

Try this - really works!

Like I said, its a tiring week for me (How many times did I say that line? Duuh). A catastrophe week. Every time I woke up, I feel like a zombie - mindless and shambling. Uarghhh....

I really wish I can buy the eyes sticker. You know the stickers that resemble the shape and colour of your eyes like these :

Mind you, I'm really tired and I wish I can take a nap for a while in the office without my boss knowing that I'm actually sleeping. I can stick the stickers on my eyes, pretending to be wide awake while I sleep for a few minutes (or hours) to regain my energy.

What do you think? Cool isn't it?? Anyone know where to buy these eyes stickers, let me know - I'm interested!

RM45 juta naik taraf Jalan Sultan Tengah

KUCHING 15 Dis.

Sultan Tengah Road is from Samariang until Kampung Budaya, Sarawak - I think so based on the map above. It's a good news that the government are going to upgrade the road. The existing 2-way road can be very congested especially at morning and afternoon time when people going and back from work. This is a great move from the government but I'm a bit skeptical when they said that the project are going to complete on August 2010.  I did saw few works have been done such as roads in front of the schools, pipeline works along the road and survey works. Today already March, 9, they have 6 months to go - can they complete on time? I really hope so. Otherwise, whomever gave the information to YB Datuk Seri Abang Johari have to remedy the data. We don't want people to think that our beloved YB giving us a false hope.

Pingu & Ziraf

Cute postcard credit to the owner.

I saw this cute postcard at my niece, Tqah's tumblr facebook :-) - its Pingu (penguin) and Ziraf (giraffe)!!. What a weird kind of friendship. Anyway, it's very true that sometimes we didn't realize who we need in our life. Same like love, we look elsewhere but someone who is near us. Must be trill to fall in love with a stranger. I never know cause I fell in love with my best friend :-) and he's the most precious and best thing that's ever happened to me!!

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

I'm lucky we're in love in every where
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Raising our children is not easy - when they happy, we also relieved & blessed but when they sick we feel that the world has falling down on us. I pray that Allah give my sons good health, raise to be upright and just human beings. Love ya lots!!

 Our Children

© Shelley R. Davis

I sit and wander, where time goes
we try our best to teach them right,
as times change and our children grow,
We love them with all our might.
It's not easy to raise a child
at times, we don't know what to do
we weren't given any instructions
It's a challenge that's all new.
Our children, are our lives
and our most important goal,
to love and to guide them
and to place them in life's role.
Our children are our future
and time will only tell
the job we've done as parents
and if we've done it well....
